Faiz-e-Dua (How to Make Dua)

Every sincere dua begins with recognising that Allah is near, that He hears every whispered prayer and that every heart ultimately depends upon Him. Among the spiritual teachings shared through the Faiz of Qalandar Baba Bukhari (RA) is a simple method of making dua with presence, focus and sincerity. As explained by Syed Baba (Waris-e-Qalandar), this practice encourages the believer to quiet the distractions of the world and turn the heart completely towards Allah.
It is not presented as a ritual or a miracle. It is a way of cultivating presence before Allah.

Why This Method?

Modern life is filled with noise. Thoughts compete for our attention, worries occupy the heart and distractions often follow us even into our worship.

This Faiz e Dua teaches us to pause.

Before asking Allah for anything, we first learn to become present before Him.

When the heart becomes present, words are no longer recited mechanically. They become a sincere conversation between the servant and the Creator.

How to Make Dua – Method

Modern life is filled with noise. Thoughts compete for our attention, worries occupy the heart and distractions often follow us even into our worship.

Steps To Follow

  • Choose a quiet place where you can sit without distraction.
  • Close your eyes gently.
  • With love, humility and sincerity, become aware that Allah is always near.
  • Allow your heart to settle in His remembrance.
  • As explained by Syed Baba, imagine your heart becoming illuminated by the Noor of Allah, allowing that awareness to fill your inner being with peace and presence.
  • When your heart feels settled, call upon Allah as a child turns to a loving parent, with complete trust, dependence and honesty.
  • With closed eyes, say ALLAH thrice In your heart with deep reverence and conviction
  • Ask for whatever is in your heart.
  • With closed eyes, drink water in 3 sips
  • When you have finished, leave your affairs with Allah, trusting His wisdom, His timing and His mercy.

Making Dua for Others

The teachings of Qalandar Baba Bukhari (RA) also encourage believers to make DUA for & with another person:

  • Close your eyes.
  • Silently say “Allah” three times in your heart.
  • Become aware of Allah’s presence.
  • As explained by Syed Baba, imagine the Noor granted by Allah filling your heart and extending through your prayers towards the person for whom you are making dua.

Pray sincerely for their wellbeing, guidance, healing and success according to Allah’s will.

Then entrust them completely to Allah

Presence Before Perfection

Distractions are part of being human. Thoughts may come and go. The mind may wander. The heart may lose focus. The purpose of this practice is not to achieve perfection, but to keep returning to Allah.
Every time the heart wanders, gently bring it back. Every time the mind becomes occupied, return to His remembrance. With patience and consistency, presence grows stronger.

The Purpose of DUA

Syed Baba explains that the true purpose of DUA is not only to seek answers, but to strengthen one’s dependence upon Allah.
When a believer turns to Allah with sincerity, the heart learns trust. When affairs are entrusted to Allah, anxiety begins to lessen. When the servant accepts Allah’s wisdom, peace gradually replaces worry.
Dua changes the relationship between the believer and Allah before it changes circumstances

Important Reminder

The Faiz of Dua is a means of drawing closer to Allah through sincerity, remembrance and complete reliance upon Him.
It is not a formula that guarantees a particular outcome, nor is it a substitute for personal effort or appropriate professional care when needed.
Only Allah knows when, how and in what manner He answers every prayer. Every sincere dua is heard. Every response comes according to His perfect wisdom.
Whatever the outcome, continue to make dua, continue to strive and continue to place your hope in Allah.

“Call upon Me; I will respond to you.” (Qur’an 40:60)
